Bespoke surgical illustrations: when anatomical precision meets artistic excellence
Generic stock images are not always enough for demanding healthcare professionals. Dr. Fernando Davila Fernández, a peripheral nerve surgeon, experienced this firsthand: no available resource met his needs for documenting the path of the ulnar nerve and an ultrasound-guided surgical technique.
The solution? Bespoke anatomical illustrations of absolute surgical precision, created from photographs of dissections he performed himself. A collaborative process spanning several months, rigorous technical back-and-forth, and structure-by-structure anatomical validation.

Anatomical body painting for Canal+: when art meets sports medicine
Since October 2025, I have been collaborating with Canal+ on the show La Clinique des Sports, hosted by Lyes Houhou. Every month, along with Hemton Kiné, I create custom anatomical body paintings to clearly and visually illustrate the injuries and physical characteristics of top-level athletes.
This approach transforms the skin into a genuine educational medium, making anatomy and health topics (prevention, pathologies, recovery, as well as mental health) more accessible to the general public. The first episodes have covered, among other things, the cruciate ligaments (Romain Ntamack), hamstring tears (Kevin Mayer), pregnancy and elite sports (Clarisse Agbegnenou), and swimmer's shoulder syndrome (Maxime Grousset).
